Woman Chief, later known as "Pine Leaf" was a fierce warrior and originally part of the Gros Ventre tribe in north central Montana. She was kidnapped by the Crow at age 10 and went on to become a chief. Skilled at weapons and said to have killed a buffalo with her bare hands, Pine Leaf was a force to be reconned with. She was killed while negotiating a peace treaty in 1854.
